Jane H. Nicholas Randolph to Lucy Colston Taylor
Edgehill August 2 /65 |
I offered my congratulations to Bennett this morning, & I cannot sleep to night without tendering the same to you my dear Lucy (as I hope you will allow me hereafter to address you) on the happy relation in which you stand to each other
Bennett will tell you that I have loved him more than Grandmothers generally do & I wish to give you a place with him in my heart.—Mr Randolph joins me in wishes for the happiness of you both—and hope that at an early day we shall receive you in in our family as one we are prepared to love. Mary & Carry join in love to you & will certainly see you if they can procure a conveyance before you leave.
