1Weaver noted that Madison Hemings was a “Male Citizen of the U. S. 21 years of age and upwards,” and in the column recording “Parentage” for Hemings, Weaver wrote, “This man is the son of Thomas Jefferson.”
2Weaver noted that both Ellen and Emma “Attended school within the year.”
