Many thanks Dear Madam for the welcome intelligence of our dear Elisabeth’s safety it is a great relief to me to know that her hour of trial is past, and that she is now enjoying the sweet reward of so much pain and danger. with pleasure I take my place in the honorable sisterhood of the “four grand mothers,” to which whom master Randolph has introduced me, very sorry that I can not cement by personal acquaintance a union formed by so strong and precious a link as our mutual children—I have not heard from Lewis since he left New York, but hope ere this reaches you he will have returned home. with a mothers love to them both, many kisses to my grandson, and cordial regards to your self, I remain
