Joseph Coolidge to Nicholas P. Trist
dear Nicholas— | [before 5 Oct. 1827] |
I have done all in my power to make Gilmer’s stay here pleasant—but you well know how impossible it is for a man to see any thing properly in a day or even a week where there are so many things to call his attention at the same moment.
He was accompanied by a Mr Wellford, of Fredericksburg, who dined with him at my father’s, and who is a friend of Col Storrow, of Fauqier , now here.—Having not time to write more at length, I close with the assurance of my full sympathy with you in poor Tyrrell’s death and—add that we hear of Col. R’s intention of immediately coming to Boston.
Ever yrs. dear N.
