I am very sorry to hear that you are so very sick, I am very glad of the idea of going to New Orleans, Brother gives his love to you and says he tries his best to write to you, I hope you will go to New Orleans with us. give my love to Aunt Harriot if you please, we are now at Aunt Christinas I k[now] why they keep that day for because it is the Birthday of the independence of the United States. Father is a great deal better than he was four days ago. I live with one of your Country women who is very kind to us she has 15 Boarders, and she says that perhaps you may know her Father her name is Elizabeth Brewer I hope, you recieved the last letter I wrote to you and remember for ever your most affectionate Grandson
